KATHMANDU: With the intention to save one’s culture, language and traditions — beauty pageants of different communities are being held. Amidst these different beauty pageants, here comes another beauty pageant — Miss Limbu.
As per the press release issued by Yakthung Youth Association (YYA), it is going to organise Miss Limbu 2012 in the second week of September for the promotion of Limbu culture so as to preserve the cultural identity of the Limbu community.
The pageant is open to all Limbu women in Nepal between the ages of 17 to 25 with an SLC degree. Even Limbu women from the UK and Hong Kong are welcome to participate in the pageant the auditions of which will begin in the second week of August in Dharan and third week of August in Kathmandu.
The winner will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 50,000, while first runner-up and second runner-up will win cash prizes Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
